About Lingocode Translations
University of Leeds, United Kingdom
My name is Rose Newell and I am a German to English translator. Lingocode has been my online presence since 2010. Since December 2010, I have also been sharing my thoughts on professional translation via my translation blog, "The Translator's Teacup". My posts relate to the art of translation, business issues, helpful technology insights, and online marketing. You can also keep up to date on my blog posts via the RSS feeds, Twitter.
Since late 2010, I have been delighted to work with a second German to English translator and proofreader, Alex. Alex and I met at the University of Leeds, England, having taken the same course one year apart. Both of us operate as freelance sole traders. Our shared background and professional values have already led to success in comprehensive translation projects.

Curriculum Vitae
German into English translation and English monolingual proofreading and editing
I am an English native speaker, raised in the rural south west of England. I speak fluent German, have working knowledge of Dutch, as well as some experience with Eastern languages.
In 2004, I began studying German and Politics at the University of Leeds. Owing to my entrepreneurial and adventurous spirit, I decided to take a two year break from my studies from 2006 to 2008 to gain further linguistic, cultural and professional experience in Bonn, Germany.
Whilst living in Germany, I was able to set up my own successful translation business, developing ongoing client relationships that continue to this day. I have a notable flair for my native language, also frequently undertaking both bilingual and monolingual proofreading and editing work. Both my own work and translations have appeared in journals and newspapers.
I am quite the lover of technology - everything from mending mobile phones to amateur web design and building computers. I have also been accepted onto a Masters programme in Communication and Information Sciences, specialising in Human Aspects of Information Technology, at the University of Tilburg, The Netherlands.
My primary specialisations are in IT, Technology, Business and Finance (inc. associated contracts), although I have worked in other areas, detailed under my specialisations.
