Ethical Policy
Alongside my careful Quality Assurance Policy, I also have a strict ethical code to which all translators and proofreaders acting under the name "Lingocode" have agreed to adhere to and promote.
I will:
- openly and actively support, promote, and encourage the use of OpenSource technology
- be willing to undertake and actively seek participation in pro-bono translation projects (for charitable or non-party political purposes and on a non-fee basis), insofar as these activities are legal and befitting our skills, experience, and personal beliefs
- avoid working with clients that are directly involved in unethical industries (i.e. investment or political lobbying in animal exploitation, worker exploitation, betting/gambling, addictive substances, weapons and arms, environmental destruction, etc.)
- reward ethical clients with the honest, reliable, and high quality service that they deserve
- assure you that we are honest and conscientious people to work with and take the greatest care of your documents
I fully understand that in many industries there are ethical grey areas. In the past, however, I have chosen to reject cooperation with obvious offenders, such as a large multinational corporation already fined by United States state governments for involvement in massive environmental damage and endangering public health. In such situations, I choose to take an ethical stance, so that I may maintain a sense of integrity and sympathy for the markets and situational needs of my existing clients.
